My research is focused within the domain of micromechanics of sand, employing the numerical 3D Discrete Element Method. Within this domain, I thoroughly investigate the influence of particle morphology, loading conditions and loading rate on the undrained shearing behaviour of sand, with a primary focus on understanding the micromechanics underlying liquefaction instability.
