Dr. Shivang Shekhar specializes in Structural and Earthquake Engineering. Prior to joining academia, he has three years of industrial experience in Structural Engineering Design consultancy. His research focuses on the structural reliability assessment of civil infrastructure systems, under service loads and extreme events such as earthquakes. His research also emphasizes on assessing the impact of corrosion deterioration and design code evolution on the seismic vulnerability and loss assessment of bridges. His research encompasses nonlinear modeling and analysis of structures, probabilistic seismic risk and vulnerability assessment, life-cycle analysis of civil engineering structures, application of advanced machine learning algorithms for multi-dimensional fragility models, and uncertainty quantification in structural reliability problems.
