Ms. Aditi Rana secures PhD position in UK

Our M.Tech by Research student Ms. Aditi Rana from School of Civil and Environmental Engineering has secured a fully funded PhD



position within the School of the Environment, Geography and Geosciences at University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. She will be working on industry-academia



project “The effects of climate change on the performance of geo-infrastructure under cyclic loading” under the supervisory team of Dr Arash Azizi, Dr Nick Koor, Dr



Philip Benson from University of Portsmouth and Professor David Toll from the Durham University. She will spend one year of her PhD duration at Durham



University and 6 months at Ramboll Group UK. Her research is focused on the use of sustainable waste material for landslide mitigation, which is supervised by Dr. Ashutosh Kumar. Recently, she was invited as a visiting student at Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience at Durham University, UK. Aditi says “I am quite fortunate that I visited Durham University as an exchange



 



 



student and got chance to work with internationally acclaimed researchers and explored the life and culture of the United Kingdom. I thank the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering of IIT Mandi for providing an excellent academic environment”.
